EDM Market Hits $12 Billion in 2026: What's Driving the Growth
The global electronic dance music market grew from roughly $11.17 billion in 2025 to about $12.04 billion in 2026, an increase of more than 7.7%, according to a market report from Global Growth Insights.
The report attributes the growth to a combination of festival and club event attendance, continued streaming-platform growth, and strong demographic interest, noting that more than 54% of listeners are under age 35 and over 41% primarily listen via mobile devices. Streaming now accounts for more than 62% of overall listening, with live shows and DJ events contributing close to 28%.
The same report projects the market will reach roughly $12.97 billion by 2027 and grow to approximately $23.5 billion by 2035, with electronic music expected to represent more than 47% of youth music listening by that point and independent artists contributing an increasing share of new releases.
The report also cites notable 2026 developments including a 500,000-attendee virtual Tomorrowland event and a reported 40% increase in Beatport EDM sales. For a deeper look at how genre discovery has shifted alongside this growth, see our How Streaming Changed EDM article.
